In Israel, since the beginning of this year, costs for electricity, gasoline, and basic food products have increased. And in the summer another increase in water tariffs is expected. Although the Ministry of Energy is trying to prevent this.

TheMarker writes about this.

Considering that water tariffs in our country depend on the consumer price index, average wages and the cost of electricity, according to estimates, in July 2024, Israelis can expect a 7 percent increase in the price of water supply. That is, the price of a cubic meter will reach 8.51 shekels, respectively, citizens’ expenses will increase from 5 to 15 shekels per month. But the problem is that an increase in tariffs can cause an increase in prices for various goods and services, because almost all industries depend on the cost of water supply.

However, the Ministry of Energy insists that they want to prevent increases in prices or reduce as much as possible the rise in prices for water and electricity, so they are working to find the budgetary sources necessary to continue this policy.

“Cursor” wrote earlier about how much the food basket in Israel has risen in price in a month.

We also wrote that starting May 19 of this year, prices for dairy products are being raised by the large concern Strauss. According to the official notice, goods will rise in price by 1.6 percent.
