Today, Monday, the Coordination Framework announced its intention to hold a session to elect the Speaker of Parliament.

The media department of the coordination framework stated in a statement, received by the (INA), that “the coordination framework held its 191st regular meeting in the office of the head of the State of Law coalition, Nouri al-Maliki, to discuss the latest political developments in the country, most notably the decision to elect a speaker for the House of Representatives.”
The statement added, “The coordination framework called on the Sunni blocs to assume their responsibilities regarding the vacancy of this sensitive position in the political system of this location within a week.”
The coordination framework announced – according to the statement – “its intention to hold a session dedicated to this, after the end of the week’s deadline to complete the important entitlement, and prepare to vote on the 2024 budget schedules.”
