New Delhi: The Ministry of External Affairs has asked Indians, including students in Ukraine, to leave the country for the time being. The Indian Embassy in Kiev advised him to leave the country if accommodation was not necessary. The embassy also demanded that Indians avoid traveling to Ukraine. The advice comes in the wake of a war situation following Russia’s moves. India’s assessment is that there is a possibility of conflict. The embassy will not be closed for the time being, the foreign ministry said.

Meanwhile, the President of Ukraine announced on Wednesday that Russia may invade Ukraine, following a crisis in similar efforts in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. The announcement was made by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky on Facebook. But the president did not say where the information came from or who said it, NBC News reported.

“We have been told that February 16 will be the day of the attack,” said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Selensky. US President Joe Biden has warned Russian President Vladimir Putin that Russia will pay a heavy price if it invades Ukraine. Twelve countries have begun withdrawing their citizens from Ukraine. There are about 20,000 Indian students in Ukraine, including many Malayalees. The Ministry of External Affairs is monitoring the situation.
