Some people even take their pets with them while traveling by plane. But some people have very healthy stomachs. Therefore they are prohibited from being carried in the cabin or cargo. There is good news for those having such stomachs. Akasa Air, the company of late veteran investor Rakesh Jhunjhunwala, has increased the weight limit for carrying pages in the cabin.
Now what is the upper limit of weight
According to Akasa Airline, now their customers will be able to carry even heavy luggage. Now pets weighing up to 10 kg can also be carried in Akasa flights. This also includes the weight of the stomach container. Earlier the upper limit of weight was only 7 kg. Notably, launched on November 1, 2022, Pets on Akasa allows customers to travel with their cats and dogs in the cabin or cargo on domestic flights across 22 cities, depending on their weight.
More than 3200 pets have enjoyed air travel
An Akasa spokesperson says it has provided air travel to more than 3,200 pets since its launch in November 2022. He says that when its weight limit was seven kg, many customers could not take their healthy dogs on flights. Its limit has been increased only on the request of customers. The airline says this increase underlines the airline’s commitment to continuously improve its services to meet the growing needs of passengers.
Two airlines in India allow carry-on luggage
There are many airlines in India. But traveling with pets is allowed in only two airlines. These are Air India and Akasa Air. In these airlines, you have the option of whether you carry your pet in the cabin or in the cargo or luggage area. You also have to pay the fee accordingly.
