The Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that it “strongly condemns Israel’s incursion into Rafah, and called for international intervention to prevent the complete invasion of the city.”
The Ministry said in a statement: “The State of Qatar condemns in the strongest terms the bombing of the Israeli occupation forces that targeted the municipality of Rafah, its invasion of the land crossing and the threat to displace citizens from shelter and housing centres, and calls for urgent international action to prevent the invasion of the city and the commission of the crime of genocide and to provide full protection for civilians in accordance with the law.” International law and international humanitarian law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned, “Forcing civilians to forcibly displace the city, which has become a final refuge for hundreds of thousands of displaced people inside the Gaza Strip, represents a serious violation of international laws, and would double the worsening humanitarian crisis in the besieged Strip.”
The Ministry reiterated, “the State of Qatar’s firm position on the justice of the Palestinian issue, the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people, and the establishment of its independent state on the 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.”
On Tuesday morning, Israeli tanks and forces penetrated the city of Rafah, took control of the Palestinian part of the Rafah crossing, and cut off the road between the crossing and Salah al-Din Road. The Israeli army said that it carried out “specific strikes against Hamas in eastern Rafah.”
Israeli tanks entered Gaza near Rafah, and reached a distance of 200 meters from the Rafah crossing with neighboring Egypt, according to what the “Times of Israel” website reported, citing a Palestinian security official and an Egyptian official.
Tel Aviv announced that the truce offer presented by Hamas in the Cairo talks did not meet its demands, confirming that it would proceed with the attack on Rafah.
