Netanyahu and Gantz implicitly criticize Biden’s statement on US military supplies
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that the country is prepared to act alone if necessary as they continue their military campaign in Gaza.
Netanyahu spoke in a message to the people of Israel on the eve of the country’s Independence Day, saying: “Today we are much stronger. We are determined and we are united to defeat our enemy and those who want to strike on our souls.”
“And if we have to be alone, we will be alone. I already said if necessary, we will fight tooth and nail,” he said.
The statement appears to be an indirect response to President Joe Biden’s announcement on Wednesday that the United States would stop delivering some weapons to Israel if it continues its campaign in the southern Gaza city of Rafah.
Biden said in an interview with CNN: “I made it clear that if they go to Rafah – which they haven’t gone to Rafah yet – if they go to Rafah, I will not be available to them with the weapons that have been used historically, which deal with the problem.”
Netanyahu said, in his dedication: “In the War of Independence 76 years ago, we were not many against many. We had no weapons, there was an arms embargo on Israel, but with great spirit, bravery and unity among us, we won”.
On the other hand, another member of Israel’s war cabinet, Benny Gantz, implicitly criticized President Biden’s decision.

Gantz also criticized the language used by some members of the Israeli cabinet in their response to Biden’s decision.
“The United States stood by Israel during its darkest hour, and the verbal attacks directed at the United States by some ministers are irresponsible and unpleasant, and they serve domestic politics.”
Gantz added: “I believe that arms shipments to Israel will continue. “Beyond the need for security, there is an important international political message behind America’s continued stance of support for Israel.”
