(Ahmad Mansoor) Army Chief General Asim Munir said that May 9 will undoubtedly be a dark day in the history of Pakistan when miscreants deliberately desecrated the memorials of the martyrs and attacked the symbols of the state and national unity. The original leaders who pretend to be innocent will now have to account for their crimes especially when there is clear evidence of their involvement, there can be no compromise or deal with the plotters and characters of such mentality.
According to the Public Relations Department of Pakistan Army, ISPR, Army Chief General Asim Munir Nishan Imtiaz (Military) visited Lahore Garrison, Corps Commander Lahore welcomed the Army Chief, Army Chief laid flowers on the martyrs’ memorial and for the motherland. Tributes were paid to the martyrs who sacrificed their lives, on this occasion the Army Chief was given a detailed briefing on the operational preparations of the formation.
According to ISPR, while addressing the garrison officers at the Corps Headquarters, the Army Chief commended the officers and men for their service to the nation and their professionalism, stressing that “enemy forces and Their patrons are doing digital terrorism through lies, fake news and propaganda, trying hard to create a divide between the armed forces and the people of Pakistan, but with the support of the nation, the ambitions of all these forces will be thwarted.”
The army chief also emphasized that “every soldier and officer of the Pakistan Army, regardless of any other affiliation or preference, puts his duties and responsibilities first and is making sacrifices on a daily basis.”
The army chief said that “May 9 will undoubtedly remain a dark day in the history of Pakistan when deliberate miscreants desecrated the memorials of martyrs and attacked the symbols of the state and national unity” due to these violent and heinous acts. The enemies of Pakistan were given an opportunity to mock the state and the nation.
Army Chief General Asim regretted that “now the same conspiratorial elements are boldly twisting the narrative and trying to involve the state in this nefarious attempt” who created this dark chapter of history. There can be no compromise or deal with the makers and characters.
He said that those innocent people who could not understand the nefarious political objectives of these criminal elements were fueled by the planners for their desires, these deluded people have already been given the benefit of doubt on the instructions of the Supreme Court. However, the real masterminds of this dastardly scheme, who are claiming to be innocent, will now have to account for their crimes, especially when there is clear evidence of their involvement.
The Army Chief assured the officers and men of the Pakistan Army that “no one will be allowed to desecrate the martyrs and their families or the organization, the planners, facilitators and criminals of May 9 will be brought to justice according to the law of the country.” He said that not responding to the daily provocations in this regard should not be considered as our weakness and our patience as unlimited.
Later, the Army Chief also inaugurated the Jinnah Library in Lahore Garrison. The Army Chief said, “We, as a constructive force, built this public library on the piles of ashes and debris created by the destructive forces. Rekindling the sanctity”.
