The Shooting World Cup continues in Baku.
According to İdman.biz, today the final stage of high-speed pistol shooting among men at a distance of 25 m took place.
Clément Bessoit of France won the bronze medal with 25 accurate hits. Chinese Xinjie Wang and Czech Martin Podrasky met in the fight for the championship. Since the number of accurate hits at the main stage of an interesting passing match was equal (32), 5 additional shots were needed. The experienced Podraski hit all the targets at the decisive stage and won the gold medal for the fifth time in his career. Xinjie Wang finished the competition with a silver medal.
After the fight, Podrasky shared his impressions of the victory:
“This is the first medal I received in Baku. Of course I’m glad. Experience is very important at this stage. Before this I participated in many finals. I was the oldest shooter in today’s final. In my opinion, experience played a big role in my winning gold. I am proud to have achieved this result on behalf of myself and the country. The number of accurate shots I made today also became a new record in the history of Czech shooting.”
He said that the shooting ranges deserve the best words:
“The center itself, the conditions created, and the lighting system, which plays an important role during the finals, are quite good. The Baku shooting center is one of the best in the world.”
Note that the World Championship will end on May 12.
