Coffee production and exports in Colombia experienced a notable increase during the month of April, according to data provided by the National Federation of Coffee Growers. Regarding production, an increase of 31% was recorded compared to the same period of the previous year. During April 2024, a total of 742 thousand 60 kg bags were produced, in contrast to the 566 thousand bags produced in April 2023.

This growth is also reflected in the accumulated coffee year, where production has shown a positive trend with an increase of 16%, reaching 7,187 bags of coffee in the period from October to April, compared to 6,188 bags the previous year. .
Regarding exports, an increase of 8% was observed at the national level during the month of April compared to the same month of the previous year. For the period between January and April 2024, an 11% growth in exports is expected, with a total of 3,768 bags of coffee exported.

The National Federation of Coffee Growers reported that preliminary exports during April 2024 experienced an increase of 24% compared to the same month of the previous year, reaching a total of 199 thousand bags exported.
On the other hand, it is estimated that coffee imports during April 2024 decreased by 6%, reflecting a positive outlook for the national industry.
