Bollywood actress Sonali Bendre. In 2018, he was diagnosed with ‘high grade’ cancer. Then he was taken to New York in the United States for treatment. Now cancer free gold. But the journey was not easy at all. Doctors said that you have only 30 percent chance of survival.
Sonali Bendre recently appeared as a guest on a podcast called Humans of Bombay. In this conversation, he told the story of this difficult journey. The actress said, ‘When I was shooting for a reality show, I was diagnosed with cancer. I wanted to know, how can I be cancer free? I used to think that cancer is a very common disease. But when I continued to do various tests, I realized that this is not a common disease. After the tests, I was diagnosed with cancer. My husband and the doctor’s faces turned pale during the PET scan.’
Cancer cells were spread all over Sonali’s body. Informing that, the actress said, “PET scan reveals the location of cancer cells in your body as well as the extent of spread. My ‘PET’ scan report showed that the cancer had spread throughout my body in such a way that it looked like a Christmas tree.”
After receiving the ‘PET’ scan report, Sonali’s husband decided to take her abroad for treatment.
Sonali Bendre got angry with the doctors while taking treatment. Recalling that, the 49-year-old actress said, ‘I lost my temper with the doctors during the treatment. Doctors said, I have only 30 percent chance of survival. How could doctors say this, I wondered. I asked them, how can I have cancer?’
Sonali’s body was completely destroyed by cancer treatment. Again it is formed. Later, Sonali Bendre realizes that what the doctors said was true. The actress believes that there are still many misconceptions about cancer in the society, so it is important to talk about it.
Sonali Bendre made her Bollywood debut in 1994 with the movie ‘Aag’ opposite Govinda. Later, he won a place in the hearts of the audience with his appearance and acting skills.
