Today is Sunday (May 12), International Mother’s Day. BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir gave a message on the occasion of the day.
In a message sent to the media on Saturday (May 11) night, Fakhrul said, I extend my sincere congratulations and best wishes to all the mothers of the world, including Bangladesh, on International Mother’s Day. I wish them continued happiness and prosperity. Mother is a wonderful and luminous word. This word is mostly pronounced after birth.
He said that Mother’s Day should be observed every day to respect the mother. A mother’s contribution to any success in a child’s life is immense. Mother is a sacred word, in whatever language she is addressed. The form of mother’s self-sacrificing love is very similar in all times and in all areas, even after crossing the boundaries of countries and times. A mother devotes herself completely to the child, to the child’s survival and well-being.
BNP Secretary General said that only mothers make the highest sacrifice for their children. He silently endures suffering for the sake of the child, making infinite sacrifices. It is impossible for any animal to take life without the grace of mother. Mother’s proximity to truth, honor, self-respect makes the child a worthy citizen. A mother is a reservoir of many energies.
He also said that while in power women contributed to the progress of the society which has been appreciated in the country and abroad, the ‘Mother of Democracy’ Begum Khaleda Zia has been imprisoned in a vindictive trial. His right to better treatment as a human being has been taken away. But his contribution to financial and social progress in this country is legendary. I wish him good health on this auspicious day.
