(by Chiara Carenini) (ANSA) – GENOA, MAY 12 – Aldo Spinelli, the ‘tsar’ of the port of Genoa, an entrepreneur under house arrest for corruption as part of the investigation into the Ligurian Tangentopolina, will return tomorrow morning before the investigating judge Paola Faggioni. The entrepreneur should have been questioned by the investigating judge Paola Faggioni on Saturday but the judge’s registry forgot to send the certified e-mail to the lawyers Vernazza and Gatto and so the long-awaited day ended in nothing. Tomorrow with Aldo Spinelli, a warrant interrogation also for Francesco Moncada, now a former board member of Esselunga, under investigation for those 120 thousand euros that Esselunga allegedly paid for advertising on the Terrazza Colombo in Genoa. According to the investigators, it would be an “illicit financing” of the Toti List, in exchange for the unblocking of two cases pending in the region. In addition to Moncada, Aldo Spinelli’s son, Roberto, will also be questioned. Finally, the former president of the Ente Bacini in Porto Vianello will be interrogated, who according to the investigators would have bribed the former president of the port authority Signorini to obtain new positions. On Tuesday instead, a guarantee interrogation for the two Testa brothers, Arturo Angelo and Maurizio, now former exponents of Forza Italia in Lombardy (they were suspended on 7 May). The two are accused of electoral corruption, aggravated by the aim of having facilitated Cosa Nostra, both are subjected to the obligation to reside in the Municipality of Boltiere (Bergamo). At the regional elections in Liguria on 20 and 21 September 2020, they would have promised jobs to channel the votes of voters, belonging to the Riesi community of Genoa and in any case Sicilians, towards the ‘Let’s change with Toti President’ list and towards the candidate Stefano Anzalone ( who is under investigation but not affected by ‘measures’). In addition to the guarantee interviews, hearings as a witness of Ilaria Cavo (who is not under investigation), deputy and regional coordinator of the Toti List, are also planned. At the same time tomorrow in La Spezia the investigating judge Mario De Bellis will subject Matteo Cozzani, Giovanni Toti’s former head of cabinet and former mayor of Portovenere, to a warrant interrogation. Cozzani, the central figure of the La Spezia investigation (the investigations into him led to the discovery of the Toti case) is also under house arrest in Genoa for aggravated electoral corruption because it was committed in order to facilitate the Cammarata di Riesi mafia clan and corruption for the exercise of the function. In La Spezia he is accused of corruption and disturbing the freedom of auctions. Already subjected to a guarantee interrogation in Genoa, he first asserted the possibility of not answering and then, with spontaneous statements, denied all the charges. After him, his brother Filippo, who is also under investigation, will also be questioned. On Tuesday, again before the investigating judge of La Spezia De Bellis, it will be the turn of Raffaele and Mirko Paletti, the Milanese entrepreneurs, arrested and under house arrest, with many ‘appetites’ in Porto Venere and on the island of Palmaria. Saverio Cecchi, now former president of Confindustria nautica, accused of corruption together with the director of the Genoa Boat Show Alessandro Campagna, subjected to interrogation on 10 May, had asked for the revocation of the precautionary measure of the ban on holding positions in companies. The investigating judge will decide in the next few days. (HANDLE).
