The government is considering, in accordance with the High Royal Directives, the implementation of a series of social projects and programs, including direct social assistance, social protection, the compulsory health insurance scheme (AMO) and support housing, said Mr. Akhannouch, during a communications meeting organized on the sidelines of the regional forum of RNI elected officials in Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, under the theme “The path to development”.
He explained, in this wake, that the executive is committed to implementing these social programs which have enabled more than 11.5 million people to benefit from the “AMO Tadamon” regime and 2.5 million families in vulnerable situations, financial support of 500 to 1,200 dirhams per month, within the framework of the direct social support program, according to criteria determined for this purpose.
The government, he continued, continues its efforts to support and implement development projects and programs, despite the problems at the local and international level marked by successive years of drought and the repercussions of the earthquake. September 8 and the Covid-19 pandemic, emphasizing that “the executive has demonstrated resilience in the face of these issues by continuing on the path to implementing its program.”
Recalling the most important projects falling within the framework of the development model of the southern provinces of the Kingdom, launched by HM King Mohammed VI with a budget amounting to 77 billion dirhams (MMDH), Mr. Akhannouch highlighted emphasis on a series of structuring projects completed or in progress in the region, citing in this regard the Tiznit-Dakhla expressway and the Dakhla Atlantic port, in addition to planned projects including the private university hospital in Dakhla.
In the agricultural sector, Mr. Akhannouch focused on the launch of work on the seawater desalination project to irrigate 5,000 hectares, which will be operational during 2025, which will significantly contribute to capacity building. agricultural sector in the region in terms of production and export and the creation of job opportunities.
In this context, he stressed that the Dakhla Atlantic port, the construction of which requires a total amount amounting to 12 billion dirhams, constitutes a lever for the development of the region and the strengthening of its openness to all regions of the world, especially since it is considered to be an essential pillar for implementing the international initiative of HM King Mohammed VI to promote access for Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean.
On the organizational level of the party, Mr. Akhannouch noted that the holding of the RNI regional forums, launched in February 2023 in Tangier and closed in February 2024 in Dakhla, constitutes a suitable opportunity for the elected representatives of the Dove Party to present their initiatives and put forward their proposals likely to address the challenges and issues at the regional level.
On this occasion, he called on the elected representatives of the party in the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region to listen to citizens’ grievances and respond to their aspirations and expectations, by working to find immediate solutions.
This regional forum, in which several members of the political office, activists and elected officials of the party took part, was marked by workshops on the importance of organizing these regional meetings which represent an ideal mechanism for communication between local elected officials. and regional parties of the dove party.
