The autonomous minibus Robobus developed by the Chinese company Guizhou Hankaisi Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. (PIX Moving), is expected to hit the roads of the city of Turin, providing short-distance transport services, Radio China reported.
PIX Moving has already received a license to test and operate the Robobus on public roads from local regulatory authorities. Field tests are now underway before the van is put into service, and delivery of more machines will depend on demand.
The Robobus is fully electric and has no traditional bus components such as a driver’s cab, steering wheel, pedals or rear-view mirrors. It is designed symmetrically, with no distinction between front and rear, making it easy to move in both directions, it can reach a maximum speed of 30 km/h. and carry six passengers, with a range of 100-130 km on a single charge.
To date, PIX Moving has delivered Robobus to customers in several countries, including Spain, Japan, the United States and India.
