Players for the IPL 2022 series have been auctioned off on a mega scale, with only 204 of the 590 players finally selected for the auction. All the 10 teams participating in the auction have bought the players they need at a cost of Rs 551 crore.
Ishant Kishan, India’s youngest wicket-keeper, was signed for the Mumbai Indians for a whopping Rs 15.25 crore. Similarly, Indian batsman Deepak Sahar, who was signed for the Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 crore, became the highest paid Indian fast bowler in history.

Foreign players:
Many Indian players like Shreyas Iyer and Washington Sunder were signed for very good bids in this auction. Whereas in the IPL series which has always been a boon for foreign players this year too many foreign players were signed for huge sums.
In that category, England all-rounder Liam Livingston, who signed for the Punjab Kings for Rs 11.50 crore, became the highest bidder in the auction. Foreign players like Nicholas Puran and Lucky Ferguson also signed deals with him for over Rs 10 crore.

Poor Pakistan players:
A few players are being paid more in this IPL auction than the prize money given to the winning teams in the ICC World Cups in the world cricket arena. Due to this, even the players who are suffering badly in the economy can become millionaires if they play in an IPL series.
And with crores of rupees being poured into the IPL series which is just 2 months away, most cricketers prefer to play in the IPL series rather than playing for their country in recent times. However, for the past several years, Pakistan cricketers have been unable to participate in such a lucrative IPL series.

200 crores:
When the IPL was formed in 2008, star Pakistan players like Saqib Afridi, Shoaib Akhtar and Sohail Tanvir played in the IPL series. But since then, Pakistan players have been ignored in the IPL series since 2010 due to border issues between India and Pakistan.
However, every year during the IPL auction, fans of the country have a habit of posting comments on social media about how many crores Pakistan cricketers will get if they participate in it. According to a Pakistani journalist, Shaheen Afridi, who is currently intimidated in international T20 cricket, will bid for Rs 200 crore if he participates in the IPL auction.

A Pakistani journalist, Ittisham-ul-Haq, tweeted, “If only Shaheen Shah Afridi participates in the IPL bid, he will bid for Rs 200 crore.” It can be said that the Indian fans who saw this fell down and laughed. Because so far Virat Kohli and KL Rahul have earned a maximum salary of Rs 17 crore in the IPL series.
