Preparations are nearing completion, with polling set for tomorrow’s local elections in the Middle East.

In Tamil Nadu 21 corporations, 138 municipalities and 489 municipalities will go to the polls in a single phase tomorrow. A total of 57,000 candidates are contesting in the constituency.

Sample voting will take place tomorrow at 6 a.m. and at 7 p.m. Voting ends at 6 p.m. The last one hour Corona victims have been arranged to vote. Voters will be able to cast their ballots by showing any of the 11 documents including voter ID card, Aadhar card, driving license, ban card and passport.

A total of 31,150 polling stations have been set up across the state for the urban local elections. All arrangements for polling at the polls are ready. 1 lakh 60 thousand electronic voting machines will be used in tomorrow’s election.

All of these electronic machines are SI compliant. Election officials were escorted to the polling stations under the supervision of led police security. In addition, ballot materials were taken to the respective centers.

A total of 3,678 polling stations across the state have been identified as tense. Similarly, 1,100 places in Chennai alone are reported to be tense.

They will be engaged in intensive surveillance in such tense polling stations and areas. 846 Action Forces have also been set up to monitor the tense polling stations.

Checkpoints have been set up to prevent unauthorized persons from infiltrating the wards from outside and to prevent the smuggling of weapons and alcohol.

Checkpoints have been set up at a total of 455 locations and police are on 24-hour surveillance. One lakh policemen will be on security duty across the state tomorrow. Together with the police, 1 lakh 40 thousand officers will be engaged in the election campaign tomorrow.
