Months ago, the International Olympic Committee published another report of the Anti-Doping Agency, according to which Hripsime Khurshudyan, a member of the Armenian women’s weightlifting team, should return the bronze medal of the London 2012 Summer Olympics. Today at the meeting with journalists H. Khurshudyan’s personal trainer Arman Ghazaryan emphasized that Hripsime Khurshudyan submitted the most doping analysis of all athletes in Armenia, both before and after competitions.

“Four years have passed since those incidents. “Hripsime has participated in many competitions, how will you explain this situation now,” said the coach.

Hripsime Khurshudyan also mentioned that he is going to continue his training until there is no exact information regarding the terms of the suspension.

“I am sorry that journalists only spread bad news, why don’t you write that Hripsime Khurshudyan is also the current champion? Yesterday I read “Urgent, very bad news with weightlifter Hripsime Khurshudyan. the whole nation is suffering” headline and I thought I was dead. It is not necessary to behave in such a way and write such things,” he said, adding that if it was up to him, he would not return the medal, but if the committee demands, he will have to return it.

The coach of the Armenian men’s weightlifting team, Pashik Alaverdyan, did not exclude the possibility that Hripsime may be asked to return the medal and be suspended.

“We responded to the committee and said that we agree with the results of the laboratory, let them make whatever decision they want,” he said, adding that they are not going to take any steps to keep the medal.

Pashik Alaverdyan also mentioned that everyone uses doping to increase the level of testosterone, but they should stop using it 100-120 days before the competition.
