First Deputy Minister of Health Lena Nanushyan participated in the round table discussion on the regulation of products containing nicotine in the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) organized by the World Health Organization in Bishkek.

On the agenda of the meeting was the discussion of tobacco products, one of the issues that became a problem for society. Today, worldwide, especially among teenagers and young adults, tobacco use is on the rise. Accordingly, the participants of the meeting talked about the approaches to the regulation of electronic cigarettes circulation, issues related to heated cigarettes and new products, discussed the normative legal approaches of EAEU member-states applied to these products.

Lena Nanushyan, along with fellow deputy ministers, participated in the press conference planned for the local media, within the framework of which they addressed the issues of regulation of new tobacco products and electronic cigarettes. It was noted that social networks also contribute to the targeting of teenagers and the distribution of tobacco products among them, so the parties expressed their willingness to work towards having unified regulations within the EAEU.
