The deputy asked whether the issue of water intake from Sevan will be discussed or not, whether quotas for the export of certain food products should not be planned, what additional measures related to local production will be implemented.
RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan and said that all the listed actions should be carried out and, yes, prepare for the challenges.
“We had a session of the EAEU Council and this issue was discussed for quite a long time, because it will not be possible to solve all problems objectively and physically with local production alone, no matter how much we think, no matter how much we change the configuration of the reserves, we still need to move goods at least within the EAEU territory. will happen in order to fully solve the problems, and this does not only apply to Armenia. There is a clear agreement that by March 25, the commission should calculate the mutual balances and determine the quota flow that will be necessary to ensure the food security of EAEU countries,” the RA Deputy Prime Minister announced.
According to him, all possible incentives should be employed in order to promote local production, particularly in terms of essential goods and food, this is a dogma, because it is obvious that there will be a shortage in the area.
“Not as a result of the lack of production, but due to logistics and transport problems, but I think that the problem is manageable and solvable and at the moment I can confidently say that the EAEU countries are very consolidated in discussing this issue,” said Mher Grigoryan.
Sergey Bagatyan asked another question to the Deputy Prime Minister of RA: is there a possibility to discuss with Russia a specific term regime for gas payment in rubles?
“Yes, it is being discussed, because the issue of currency for the distribution of EAEU customs duties is also being discussed, in the discussion agenda of which the countries also present their proposals and, naturally, the countries present proposals to resolve the issue of foreign currency exporting instruments for the largest imports. Now I can’t promise that the issue will be resolved, because there are objective conditions, but today this issue is also discussed in the public domain and at some point it will be on the agenda,” the RA Deputy Prime Minister announced.
