Most of the exporters in Armenia see risks in exporting in rubles, Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan announced in the National Assembly.
He mentioned that the Central Bank of Armenia and the Central Bank of Russia are working on this issue so that it is possible to sign a ruble-dram swap, as a result of which Armenian exporters will be able to quote their goods in Armenian drams to Russian partners and sell them in drams.
Vahan Kerobyan said that since the day after the well-known Russian-Ukrainian events, they have been doing serious work with Armenian exporters in order to understand and inventory the problems.
“We have already solved some problems, but the big problems are circulating in the form of drafts of government decisions. Many exporters have a temporary disruption of dram flows. the contracts that were in US dollars, there are difficulties with payment, the contracts that were in rubles, due to the significant devaluation of the receivables, the exporters were in a difficult situation, and we will try to give oxygen to the exporting companies with the draft of the government’s decision, so that they can improve their cash flows. they can solve the temporary rupture”, said the RA Minister of Economy.
