The matches of the 7th round of the World Junior Chess Championship took place yesterday. The representatives of Armenia registered the following results in this round.

Hayk Martirosyan celebrated his 7th victory in the tournament for boys under 16 years of age, who is already 1.5 points ahead of the nearest competitors.

Manuel Petrosyan, competing in the under-18 boys’ tournament, drew with Shahin Lorparizangeneh, representing Iran, and Aram Hakobyan defeated Mousavi Khalil Seyed, representing Iran. Now, Petrosyan and Hakobyan have earned 5.5 points each and are in the 2nd and 3rd positions, respectively, and Maxim Vavulin is leading the tournament table, who has scored 6 points. In today’s 8th round, Aram Hakobyan will compete against Vavulin.

Siranush Ghukasyan, competing in the under-18 girls’ tournament, defeated the European champion and the main favorite of this tournament, Nino Khomeriki. Now Ghukasyan has scored 6 points and leads the tournament table.
Artur Davtyan, who plays in the under-14 boys’ tournament, drew with Kirill Shevchenko, representing Ukraine, and shares the 5-12th horizontals with 5 points. Semyon Lomasov leads the standings here, having scored 7 points out of 7 possible.

Shant Sargsyan, Arpine Grigoryan and Kristine Smbatyan also celebrated victories in the 7th round.
