The weighted average electricity tariff in Armenia increased by 4.7 drams from February 1, 2022. for socially disadvantaged families, however, the existing tariffs are maintained.
To remind, the Public Services Regulatory Commission adopted such a decision on December 29.
The proposal to change the tariffs was made by the PSC. Thus, for the socially disadvantaged, who make up 11 percent of residents-subscribers, the tariffs will remain unchanged, and for residents with a monthly consumption of up to 200 kWh, who make up 55 percent of the residents-subscribers, the tariff will increase by 1.5 drams/kWh. And for those who make up 25 percent of the residents-subscribers, with a monthly consumption of 201-400 kWh, the tariffs will increase by 3.5 AMD/kWh, and for the rest of the consumers, it is proposed to increase the tariff by 5.5 AMD/kWh.
Thus, day and night tariffs for socially disadvantaged families will continue to be AMD 29.99 and AMD 19.99, respectively. For residents with a monthly consumption of up to 200 kWh, the daytime tariff will become 46.48 AMD instead of the current 44.98 AMD, and the night tariff will become 36.48 AMD instead of 34.98 AMD. For residents with a monthly consumption of 201-400 kWh, the daytime tariff will become 48.48 AMD instead of the existing 44.98 AMD, and the night tariff will become 38.48 AMD instead of the existing 34.98 AMD. And for those who consume more than 400 kWh, the daytime tariff will become 53.48 AMD instead of the existing 47.98 AMD, and the night tariff will become 43.48 AMD instead of the existing 37.98 AMD.
