“Deep down, I feel that the war may end somewhere around the North Caucasus. We don’t have enough soldiers. We are also ‘throwing’ the wounded to the front who have not yet fully recovered. This is a huge problem,” said the staunch Russian nationalist in a video on the Telegram social network .

According to Kalashnikov, it was the recent fierce fighting on the front that led the Kremlin to increase its intensity towards peace talks with Ukraine. “Of course, at the moment the freezing of the war is being discussed. It is clear that Moscow can no longer win the war, but it thinks it can,” the propagandist described.

Kalashnikov, who shares updates on the military conflict on his popular channel, also hinted that Ukraine could eventually invade Russian territory as well. The propagandist had previously criticized Putin’s war strategy on Telegram: for example, sacrificing a large number of soldiers in attacks.

He published these statements at a time when the dynamics of the frontline fighting seem to be turning in favor of Ukraine again thanks to the supply of Western weapons. NATO chief Christopher Cavoli told a security forum in Aspen that the Ukrainian military had developed a “great strategy”.

“Ukrainians have been focused in the last few months on defending what they have in the east. To prevent Russia from freely using Crimea and southern Ukraine to attack the rest of their country. To maintain access to the Black Sea and to generate power,” explained Cavoli .

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that thanks to the new military law, Kiev has fourteen new brigades ready to fight, but they are waiting for the arrival of more weapons.

Zelenskyi also called on British Prime Minister Keir Starmer to “show his leadership skills” and help remove restrictions that limit Ukraine’s use of weapons supplied by Western allies.
