Madurai:

Theni:
Dhanush Kumar, a medical college student from Theni, said that many Indian students were stranded in Ukraine due to inadequate action by Indian embassy officials in Ukraine and that the students could not even afford to be physically abused.
He is a 3rd year student at the Medical University in Carwick. During the last 1 week of the war, he booked a ticket to India for the last time and then traveled by train to Livia for 20 hours, then to Turkey, then to Qatar, then to Kerala and then back to Tamil Nadu.
He said there was no war until he left, and that bombs had been dropped on the way they had come after the departure, and that many female medical students were staying in the metro without even basic facilities and without access to food and toilet facilities. He said Indian embassy officials had not taken adequate precautionary measures and many human beings would have returned to India if such precautionary measures had been taken.
Dindigul:
Magudeeswaran’s son Niranjan from Ayakkudi near Palani in Dindigul district is a third year student at the National Medical University in Ukraine.
As a result of Russia’s war on Ukraine, 19 students from Niranjan and Tamil Nadu are stranded in India. Niranjan’s father Magudeeswaran visited the Dindigul District Collector’s Office today, urging the Central Government to instruct the Central Government to return them home immediately.
Later, the District Collector submitted a petition to Visakhan seeking the release of his son. After receiving the petition, the District Collector said that he would immediately inform the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu in this regard. Niranjan also informed his father over the phone about the dire situation there.
