On Friday evening, the match between Norway and Egypt was called off. After a closely contested duel, Egypt emerged as the series winner. This loss marks Norway’s first defeat in the championship so far. Only one goal separated the teams, with the final score ending at 25–26 in favor of Egypt.
Norway will play their next match against Denmark. Denmark is currently in first place in Group B, with Norway in second place. The match is scheduled for Sunday, August 4, at 19:00.
Regarding the match against Denmark, coach Jonas Wille says this to NRK;
– We shouldn’t dig ourselves too deep, but learn a bit from this with ball release. Denmark is a different kind of team, but the best in the world, I believe.
Important Timeout
After 42 minutes played against Egypt, Norway called a timeout. This seems to loosen up the game, especially for Setterblom in the offense. Three minutes later, he scores his only goal of the match, giving Norway a one-goal lead.
Despite all this, Egypt wins the match by one goal.
The Norwegian men’s national team cannot let this affect them too much, as both they and their next opponent, Denmark, have advanced to the quarter-finals.
