/ Albania accused the Iranian government of carrying out a sophisticated cyber breach through a group of “hackers” sponsored by Tehran.
Albanian cybersecurity authorities said a hacking group “sponsored” by the Iranian government attacked the Albanian Statistical Institute earlier this month, according to Sky News Arabia.
The institute reported on February 1 that it had been the target of a “sophisticated cyber attack” and that some systems had been affected.
Albania’s National Electronic Certification and Cybersecurity Authority has accused the Internal Justice organization – which it described as an “Iranian government-sponsored aggressor group” – of the attack, which affected 40 computers.
