Tamil Nadu students who went to study medicine have urged the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister to take immediate action to bring back to India those who are starving in Ukraine.

Russia’s war on Ukraine continued for a second day yesterday. It is feared that the impact could be even greater. Thus, Ukraine Tamil Nadu students who have gone to study medicine in various parts of the country are suffering from life threatening conditions. The problem persists in the return of all of them to the country as air transport has been canceled.

One of them is Deepak, son of Prakash, a lawyer from Kalasapakkam, Thimalai district. He said that 3 more people from Tamil Nadu are staying with him. They all stay at the university. It is difficult to cope for 2 or 3 days if the same condition persists. An unsafe environment for life prevails. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. We have no information available. The Indian government must act quickly and take us away. ”

Similarly, in a WhatsApp video released by Manikandan, a student from Vandavasi, he said, “Food is not available in Ukraine. Food items in stores are exhausted. The flight was canceled. Not sure how to get home. An unusual situation exists. Is scary. Parents are scared. Water is not available. Electricity is also said to be cut off at any time. The government has said to go to the bunker.

There are more than 500 students from Tamil Nadu. We have 10 students from Vandavasi area. Assistance is provided by the Embassy and the University. The university administration is talking to the embassy. We all need Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister MK Stalin to act fast to return home safely. ”
