Alianza Lima Under New Leadership with Mariano Soso
August 8, 2024 – Changes are afoot at Alianza Lima following the arrival of new head coach Mariano Soso. After his official presentation, Soso wasted no time in making his first personnel decision.
The departing figure is goalkeeping coach Solomon Libman, who won’t be part of the team for the rest of the season.
“Salomón Libman will leave Alianza Lima,” the club confirmed in a statement.
Soso arrived with his full technical team, including Diego Buján and Juan Cruz Gill as assistants, and Juan Manuel Lopez as physical trainer. Representing Chile is Robinson Puebla, who will be the goalkeeper coach.
The Argentine strategist held his first training session with the team on Wednesday and was officially presented at a press conference, where he expressed confidence in the current squad’s potential to compete for the championship.
When does Mariano Soso start in Alianza Lima?
Alianza Lima faces ADT on Saturday, August 10th at Alejandro Villanueva Stadium. This match will mark Soso’s debut and his first test in his new role. With 12 points, the team sits in second place, trailing Crystal University and Sports by two points.
