Meeting Held to Strengthen Economic Relations between Armenia and Slovenia
On October 7, the Union of Industrialists and Businessmen of Armenia hosted the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Slovenia, Tomazh Mentsin. The meeting aimed to explore avenues for strengthening economic cooperation between the two countries.
Nerses Karamanukyan, Vice President of the Union, welcomed the guests and provided an overview of the Armenian economy, highlighting sectors with potential for foreign investment and export. He suggested areas such as rural processing, pharmaceuticals, IT, tourism, and mining as promising for bilateral collaboration.
Ambassador Mentsin emphasized the untapped potential for economic cooperation between Armenia and Slovenia, stressing the need for stronger business-to-business connections. He offered Slovenia’s experience in EU integration to support Armenia’s economic development.
The honorary consul of Slovenia in Armenia, Ruben Astvatatryan, suggested potential areas of collaboration in healthcare, engineering, agriculture, and tourism. He acknowledged the need for more information exchange and market analysis to fully exploit the available opportunities.
The meeting concluded with the exchange of letters between the directors of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in both countries, expressing their commitment to strengthening their organizations’ collaboration.
