Mr. Boussouf, who led the inaugural course of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Marrakech under the theme “Morocco in the world: Cultural and civilizational challenges,” highlighted the crucial role of elites in promoting cultural values. He emphasized the university’s central role in this endeavor.
“We face significant challenges today, and we must address them on both the cultural and ethical levels,” he stated, emphasizing Morocco’s potential to play a leading role in this regard. This potential is evident in the abundance of educational, cultural, and family institutions, as well as in educational programs designed to instill these values in younger generations.
In his speech, Mr. Boussouf also acknowledged the unique interaction between the Jewish, Christian, and Islamic components of Moroccan culture. He stressed that moderation in Morocco is not defined by religion, but rather by the Moroccan way of life, making the Kingdom a global model of tolerance and understanding.
He further emphasized the need to build a societal project based on Morocco’s ancestral values, particularly emphasizing solidarity, as a solution to the challenges facing humanity in the modern era.
Additionally, Mr. Boussouf called on Cadi Ayyad University to collaborate with the CCME in creating an encyclopedia on the city of Marrakech. This initiative recognizes Marrakech’s central role in the development and preservation of Moroccan heritage across various disciplines.
The dean of the Faculty of Letters and Human Sciences of Marrakech, Abdeljalil Lokrifa, added that this inaugural course aligns with the national strategy to prioritize the universality of Moroccan culture and civilization, as well as its cultural and identity dimensions.
