Media coordinator Mohammed Imad confirmed that Iraqi national football team striker Ayman Hussein will not participate in the upcoming match against Vietnam due to a minor bruise, not a muscle tear.
“Medical examinations proved that player Ayman Hussein did not suffer from a muscle tear, but rather suffered a minor bruise,” Imad told Agency.
“His participation in the upcoming match and his representation of the Iraqi national team in its match against Vietnam is up to the technical staff, who will decide whether he will participate or not.”
Imad downplayed the severity of the injury, stating that it was simply a bruise and that Hussein would recover in a short time, according to the medical diagnosis.
Several media outlets and websites had previously reported that Hussein suffered a tear during the Iraq-Japan match, ruling him out of the Vietnam match.
