PARIS (Nettavisen): The case expands!
Lene Retzius reached the Olympic final in pole vault, but the Norwegian girl could not keep pace with the best. She cleared the opening height of 4.40 on her second attempt, then she attempted to clear 4.60. She came close on both her first and second attempts, but by the third, she was further away.
She finished 18th in the final.
Retzius has a personal best of 4.70, which she set in 2022, but her best result this season has been 4.61.

– I could, of course, wish I had jumped better, but there are no tears for me today. I reached an Olympic final, and that was the goal, she tells NRK.
The Norwegian Olympian has opened up about a difficult lead-up to the championship in Paris, as she lost her coach Anatoly Gordienko in March. He passed away after a long illness, and the 28-year-old shared that they had been working towards the championship in Paris until the very end.
– He prepared me well for the time that was to come. He was ill for a long time, and there was nothing left unsaid, undone, or unasked. We made a plan together, for Paris in 2024, that I would be in the best shape of my life here, she tells Nettavisen before the competitions began.
