Rapper Nelly was arrested by Missouri State Police Patrol after winning a jackpot at the Hollywood Casino and Hotel in the St. Louis area. The arrest occurred shortly before 5 am on Wednesday morning. While collecting his winnings, an officer noticed an outstanding arrest warrant for driving without insurance and proceeded to search the rapper, finding the ecstasy pills.
The rapper’s lawyer, Scott Rosenblum, criticized the conduct of the officer, claiming that he was overly aggressive and unnecessarily humiliated Nelly. The rapper was held for several hours before being released. Nelly, whose real name is Cornell Haynes II, previously faced similar issues in Maryland Heights in 2018, when he was cited for driving without insurance. A warrant related to this incident remains outstanding.
This isn’t the first time Nelly has encountered legal trouble. In 2017, he was accused of sexual harassment, but the case was later settled out of court.
