Japanese Photojournalist’s Exhibition Highlights Artsakh Corridor Issue
On January 28, the Japan-Armenia Friendship Association (JAFA) hosted a presentation of Japanese photojournalist Makio Matsumura’s photographs in the corridor of Berdzor in Tokyo. Matsumura visited Armenia in October 2023 and personally photographed the flow of Artsakh refugees to Armenia through the Berdzor Corridor.
Addressing the audience, Ambassador Hovhannisyan thanked JAFA for organizing the exhibition and expressed Armenia’s appreciation for their support. He noted that Matsumura’s photos highlighted the inability of the international order to enforce international law, specifically regarding the uninterrupted flow of people through the Berdzor Corridor.
The ambassador emphasized that Armenia expects direct condemnation of Azerbaijan’s illegal actions from countries like Japan, which would contribute to establishing peace in the South Caucasus.
