Football: DTN aims to achieve, in the long term, a workforce of 50% of Botola players within the national “A” team
Casablanca - The National Technical Directorate (DTN), reporting to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), has implemented a strategy for the development of national football, aiming, in the long term, to ensure that the national “A” team has a workforce of 50% of players playing abroad and 50% from Botola Pro.
The current squad of the national A team is made up of 90% of players playing abroad and only 10% from the local championship, as stated in a press release published on the FRMF website following a meeting held by the DTN with the coaches and staff of the different categories.
During this meeting, the National Technical Director, Chris Van Puyvelde, outlined the requirements of modern high-level football, emphasizing the concepts of verticality and decision-making, while highlighting the foundations of the DTN development pyramid, which includes training, scouting, regionalization plans, regional training centers, and support for clubs.
During the meeting, Mr. Roy Pieters, head of detection at the DTN, presented the DTN action plan, which outlines a game philosophy focused on tactical and technical requirements in possession and loss of the ball.
