It is difficult to assess the current state of the Armenian army. That question should be directed to the authorities, who have had the responsibility to invest in and restore the army’s combat capabilities over the past years. Seyran Ohanyan, the head of the Armenia faction and former Minister of Defense, stated this during an interview at the Yrablur military pantheon.
“It is clear that if any measures were taken, they were implemented too late, with shortcomings. If not, we would have achieved success during the military operations of 2021-2023. Despite the challenges, the soldiers and commanders fought valiantly throughout, and I believe in their dedication,” said Seyran Ohanyan.
He emphasized that the army is the key to restoring Armenia’s former military reputation.
“We formed the army from volunteer detachments. However, during this current leadership’s tenure, unity within the regular army was shattered. The weaponry we acquired, a significant portion of which was captured during combat, was ultimately transferred to Azerbaijan,” said Seyran Ohanyan.
