## Corruption Report: Iraq Ranked Seventh in Arab World
The year 2024 saw Iraq ranked seventh among the most corrupt Arab countries, maintaining its position since 2021. The country ranked 154th globally out of 180 countries in Transparency International’s Corruption Perceptions Index 2023.
The report revealed that Denmark topped the list as the least corrupt country in the world, scoring 90 points, followed by Finland (87 points), New Zealand (85 points), and Norway (84 points).
Iraq received a score of 23 points, placing it alongside Somalia, Syria, Sudan, Yemen, Libya, and Eritrea as the most corrupt Arab nations.
The Corruption Perceptions Index is an annual report that assesses corruption levels on a scale of 0 to 100, with higher scores indicating greater transparency. The report relies on data collected from 13 international organizations, including the World Bank and the World Economic Forum.
