Lithuanian Pentathletes Shine at the Olympics
L. Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė and G. Venčkauskaitė shone brightly at the Olympic Pentathlon in the A semi-final on Saturday.
L. Asadauskaitė-Zadneprovskienė:
Finished 9th overall after the third running and shooting lap, leading her closest rival by less than half a second.
Narrowly missed the final after finishing 11th in the final lap, trailing by 4.5 seconds.
Ultimately finished 9th in the A semi-final, scoring 630 points in running and shooting, 291 in riding, 263 in swimming, and 230 in fencing.
G. Venčkauskaitė:
Secured 6th place overall after the final lap.
Scored 300 points in the riding event, the maximum score.
Finished 9th in the additional fencing event and 3rd in her swimming heat, earning 272 points.
Both athletes advanced to the final on Sunday.
The Lithuanian duo has a chance to win their second and third Olympic medals, respectively.
