Russian received silver at the World Modern Pentathlon Championships

Russian athlete Alexander Lifanov took second place at the World Modern Pentathlon Championships, held in Cairo (Egypt).

The winner of the championship was the Hungarian athlete Adam Marosi with 1435 points. Russian Lifanov got silver for 1426 points, and Egyptian athlete Ahmed Elgendi got a bronze medal with 1417 points.

The World Championship is due to end on June 14, 2021. In Cairo, it takes place after the International Union of Modern Pentathlon decided in January 2021 to transfer the championship from Belarus, where it was originally supposed to be held, to another country.
