CBI Arrests Babbar Khalsa International Terrorist in Abu Dhabi
New Delhi, 2024-08-11 – The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in collaboration with the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Interpol arrested Babbar Khalsa International terrorist Tarsem Singh from Abu Dhabi. Singh, wanted in connection with the RPG attack on Punjab Police Intelligence Headquarters in Mohali and other terror cases, was taken into custody after reaching Delhi. This arrest is a major success for Indian security agencies ahead of Independence Day.
With Singh’s arrest, many secrets of the Khalistani movement are expected to be revealed. Officials believe that Singh, who is facing Interpol’s Red Corner Notice, was brought to Delhi by a security mission of the NIA and was arrested on Friday morning.
A CBI spokesperson stated, “The person against whom the Red Corner Notice was issued was wanted by the NIA for crimes related to terrorism and financing of terrorist activities.”
The spokesperson added that the Red Corner Notice was issued by Interpol on the request of the NIA in November 2023 and was sent to all Interpol member countries for tracing and arresting the accused.
Tarsem Singh is the brother of proclaimed terrorist Lakhbir Landa and a prominent member of the Babbar Khalistan International (BKI) terror group. He previously worked with terrorists Rinda and Landa in the United Arab Emirates. He is also wanted in several other cases, including the RPG attack on Punjab Police in Mohali in May 2022.
