Al Haouz Earthquake: More Than 36,000 Beneficiaries of Social Center Services Until October 13
Rabat – More than 36,000 people affected by the Al Haouz earthquake benefited from the services of the social center until October 13, said Monday in Rabat, the Minister of Solidarity, Social Integration and Family, Awatif Hayar.
In response to an oral question in the House of Representatives regarding the rehabilitation of social protection centers and the implementation of their role in social support for earthquake victims, Ms. Hayar noted that her department immediately created a cell to monitor the repercussions of the Al Haouz earthquake, bringing together all the components of the social pole, including the National Mutual Aid, the Social Development Agency and the National Institute of Social Action. This mobilization involved 193 executives from the National Mutual Aid and 203 executives from partner organizations.
The executives of the Ministry of Solidarity and its components are present in most of the affected communities, added the minister, noting that the interventions of her department concerned 89 communities out of a total of 108 disaster-stricken communities.
Regarding the social protection centers affected by the earthquake, Ms. Hayar specified that 242 establishments have been identified, including 150 social protection establishments and 92 others under the social pole. Of these, 22 establishments require reconstruction, while 220 others require rehabilitation and redevelopment works.
