In this context, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke by phone with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zhelensky. The Ukrainian president took to Twitter to point out that Ukraine was facing Russian attacks and called on the UN Security Council to extend political support to Ukraine.

Following this, a press release issued by the Prime Minister’s Office stated that the Prime Minister had expressed concern over the damage caused to life and property by the current conflict.

He called for an immediate end to the violence and for talks to be held. The Prime Minister said that India was ready to assist the peace efforts in any way and demanded that the necessary assistance be provided to expedite the expulsion of Indians.
