In his first activity on the “X” platform after his account was restored, former US President Donald Trump conducted an interview with controversial billionaire Elon Musk today, Monday, which he described as the interview of the century.
The interview comes after Musk publicly endorsed the Republican presidential candidate following the attempted assassination of Trump in Butler, Pennsylvania, on July 13.
Trump wrote on his social media site, Truth Social, last Tuesday: “On Monday night I will be doing a major interview with Elon Musk.”
The official Trump campaign account on the “X” platform stated that the interview will take place at 8 pm Eastern Time in the United States, and shared a photo showing that Trump’s account on the platform will host the interview.
The account also asked to activate notifications, so that an alert will arrive when the interview is aired - indicating that it will be on the X platform.
The former US President’s account on X was banned from the platform under its former name “Twitter” after the Capitol events on January 6, 2021, however the account was restored in 2023, months after Musk bought the platform.
Following the ban, Trump created his own social media company, Truth Social, which went public earlier this year.
