## Mobile Mayor’s Office Connects Citizens’ Opinions to Policies in Paju City
Paju City Mayor Kim Kyung-il emphasized the importance of connecting citizens’ opinions to policymaking through the Mobile Market Office, a direct communication channel with residents.
Since its inception in 2022, the Mobile Mayor’s Office has held 100 sessions, providing a platform for direct communication between citizens and the mayor. The latest session, attended by approximately 3,400 people, focused on engaging the youth, who are seen as the future of Paju City.
During the event, young participants shared their suggestions and innovative ideas on various current issues related to youth policy. These discussions covered a wide range of topics, from concerns about the funding cuts affecting youth participation organizations to proposals for improving access to cultural and leisure activities.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il acknowledged the challenges faced by youth organizations and pledged to work with the government to address their operational difficulties. He emphasized the importance of actively listening to and incorporating citizens’ voices into policy decisions.
The Mobile Market Office has become a vital tool for citizen engagement in Paju City, fostering a “citizen-centered” approach to local governance. Since its inception, the office has facilitated over 100 meetings with citizens, resulting in direct interactions with the mayor for over 3,400 people.
Mayor Kim Kyung-il expressed his commitment to working with the youth to create a better future for Paju City. He highlighted the city’s recent designation as a leading region for education development and emphasized the need for inclusive education policies for young people.
