Today Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan received the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk, who is in Yerevan to participate in the Armenian-Russian business forum.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted.
“This is a very important event for us and we hope that it will contribute to the attraction of new Russian investments in Armenia. Of course, we are very interested in Russian businessmen of Armenian origin being active, especially now, when we are in the post-war reconstruction phase. In this sense, this is also an important occasion to discuss the current tasks related to the tripartite working group dealing with the issue of opening regional communications. And, as I have mentioned several times, we are very interested in the opening of communications, because we value it as an opportunity to overcome the blockade of Armenia, in which, unfortunately, we have been for more than 25 years. We hope that as a result of the works we will come to concrete decisions.
I would also like to thank you for organizing the work of the tripartite group at a high level and I am very glad that you are showing such great interest in this issue. It is very important for us to finally get a railway connection with Russia, which will generally open new opportunities for the development of our economy and our integration into the Eurasian Economic Union. This will also make our membership in the Eurasian Economic Union even more effective.”
Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Alexey Overchuk he said in his speech.
“As we agreed during our last meeting in Yerevan, a Russian business forum is being organized in Yerevan, and this is the first visit of the Russian business mission to Armenia in the post-war period. Since the morning, we have held a series of round tables, where Armenian and Russian business representatives have gathered. Mher Herberti and I visited all the round tables today, and they are round tables on the issues of infrastructure, transport, energy, environmental protection, development of innovations. The most important thing is the contacts that take place: there are ideas about some projects, followed by discussions and intentions to establish connections. In other words, this is a future-oriented work, and it is welcome. for that very purpose we have come to restore and make closer and improve the ties.
There are indeed opportunities, and here are representatives of Russian development institutes, representatives of the State Development Corporation of the Russian Federation (ВЕБ.РФ), which in turn also has opportunities to finance export transactions and their insurance. This whole set of tools can really work so that we can implement economic ties more effectively, develop them and raise our economic relations between Russia and Armenia to the level they should be. Of course, as you rightly mentioned, it is also very important for the development of ties in the Eurasian Economic Union.”
There was an exchange of ideas between the interlocutors on the range of issues mentioned on both sides.
It should be noted that this morning Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Overchuk, along with RA Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan, participated in the “Armenian-Russian Economic Cooperation” organized within the framework of the visit of the business mission of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Armenia. prospective projects” at the event.
