jpnn.com – The General Chairperson of the National Karang Taruna Management (PNKT) Didik Mukrianto is concerned about the regulation that forced the female Paskibraka to remove their headscarves during the inauguration in the Indonesian Capital City (IKN).
However, Didik is grateful that the presidential palace responded quickly to the polemic about the hijab, so that members of the 2024 Paskibraka who usually wear the hijab can still wear the hijab while on duty at the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony.
“Alhamdulillah, the head of the Presidential Secretariat took quick steps by allowing female Paskibraka members to wear the hijab while on duty. Of course I appreciate this step,” said Didik via text message, Thursday (15/8).
The member of Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives admitted that he was concerned that the ban on the use of the hijab was occurring in a country that upholds diversity.
“Such policies and regulations are clearly not Pancasilaist. And the regulation that requires the daughters of Paskibraka members to remove their headscarves must be corrected or revoked,” he said.
Didik said that in the context of diversity, respecting every difference including religious beliefs is absolutely necessary. Because, it is part of the substance of unity and oneness in diversity in Indonesia.
The Democratic Party legislator reminded that Article 29 Paragraphs 1 and 2 of the 1945 Constitution clearly states that everyone is free to embrace their own religion and worship according to their religion and beliefs.
Then, in Verse 2 it reads that the state guarantees the freedom of each person to embrace their respective religion and worship according to their religion and belief.
The General Chairperson of the National Karang Taruna Management (PNKT) Didik Mukrianto is grateful that the female Paskibraka can wear the hijab again during the 79th Indonesian Independence Day ceremony at the IKN later.
