The conversation between the two came after Bennett addressed the events in Ukraine this morning and said: “On behalf of all Israeli citizens, I would like to express hope that this conflict will be resolved before the war develops further, and will have serious humanitarian consequences far beyond what we can imagine. We pray for the well-being of our citizens. “Ukraine and hope to prevent further bloodshed. We are conducting ourselves in a measured and responsible manner.”

Bennett is also expected to convene the Political-Security Cabinet tonight to discuss the situation in Ukraine in all its aspects. During the discussion, ministers and Bennett will discuss the expulsion of Israelis from the country and assistance to the Jews of Ukraine. In addition, the issue of Israeli humanitarian aid will be raised and the status of the economy’s readiness for the immediate consequences of the war in Eastern Europe will also be discussed, as well as the preparation of a response to sanctions.
