National award-winning cricket coach and analyst Nazmul Abedin Fahim has become the director of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB).
Fahim was nominated as the director in the BCB’s emergency board meeting at the secretariat on Wednesday (21 August). Fahim got the post of director as the representative of National Sports Council (NSC).
Fahim has been with cricket for a long time. He started working as a cricket coach in BCB. Then worked in hyperperformance department, cricket academy, age group and lastly BCB women’s department. After leaving BCB, he was cricket advisor of BKSP for a long time.
Fahim also participated in the last BCB election. Nazmul Abedin fought against Khaled Mahmud Sujan in category-3 in BCB elections. Seber lost to Sujan.
Fahim was all about BCB reforms. Finally, on August 10, he told the media about BCB reform, ‘We have been thinking about it (outline) for years, especially me. What can be done in some places, there is a deficiency in some places. Do we have resources with which we can overcome. Maybe I will talk about it in the future. In some places we are lagging behind, but there is no reason for us to be lagging behind in that place.’
Meanwhile, Farooq Ahmed, who became the BCB president, also got the directorship as a representative of NSC. Jalal Yunus-Sazzadul Alam Bobby had to resign for Farooq-Fahim. Jalal resigned but left Bobby on NSC. He was acquitted.
