73 delegates from 10 countries took part in the international gymnastics tournament held in Riga. The European bronze medalist from Armenia took part in the 2013 Armenian Games. Artur Davtyan took his rightful place in the list of 10 best athletes.
The student of the distinguished coach Hakob Serobyan exceeded expectations. He had consistent performances in all 6 events and took first place in the all-around. Arthur scored 87 points, improved his previous best result by 2.5 points and set a new personal record.
The 22-year-old athlete from Yerevan also had excellent competitions in the finals of individual instruments. He was the first in vault, rings, parallel bars, and pole vault, and took second place in free exercises and vaulting.
On March 15, the RA gymnastics team will leave for Qatar. There, the team will hold a 10-day training camp with the home team, led by the USSR champion, student of Albert Azaryan’s school, Edward Gevorgyan from Yerevan. There, our athletes will participate in the World Cup on March 25-30.
