At the end of the year, compared to 2020, we will have more than 10 percent economic growth, RA Economy Minister Vahan Kerobyan said today in a conversation with journalists.
According to the minister, there is a lot of activity in agriculture, besides that, there is also a lot of activity in the industrial sector.
Kerobyan said that the past year was a leap year and, according to him, usually, whenever there is a leap year, domestic output is generated every day.
“We are already very close to the point of recovery,” said the minister.
Kerobyan said that last year we had a decline in the field of tourism.
“Last year we had no tourists in March, but this year we already have Persians in March, it’s Nowruz and there are a lot of people,” he said.
According to the minister, they are planning to enter the normal pace from May. The growth of this year’s tourism, compared to the previous year, is predicted by 319 percent.
Vahan Kerobyan emphasized that everything should be done so that there are no restrictions in the country due to the coronavirus situation.
“The austerity is very bad for the economy, because I am responsible for the economy, I will be against the austerity, but if we see that the healthcare system can no longer serve the disease, then of course we should consider the option of austerity,” said Kerobyan.
It should be noted that Kerobyan announced yesterday that Armenia’s economy has almost recovered.
